“There’s nothing else like London.  Nothing at all, anywhere.”  -Vivienne Westwood
Such an appropriate quote from the British fashion designer that, back in the 1970’s, brought modern punk and new wave fashion into the mainstream UK scene and beyond.
I absolutely love London’s fashion culture, and I had the extraordinary opportunity to witness it up close and personal.  My husband, two eager boys, and I were lucky enough and forever grateful to go “on holiday” in London these past two weeks.  What an exciting adventure!  Of course the main purpose of this trip was to live and breathe all that is football (or soccer, as we call it in the states).  We caught a Chelsea and Arsenal game; toured football stadiums and football museums; hung out with crazy UK football fans; but amongst all this hysteria and testosterone,  I was able to steal small snippets of time throughout each day to explore the British fashion scene.  My husband knew that if he set me free for too long in the streets of London on a “fashion frenzy”, he might not ever see me again. Nothing got my blood pumping faster than wandering its streets and neighborhoods… people-watching and window-shopping.  I love a good hunt for boots and baubles; stilettos and stockings; hats and haute couture!
So please come with…Take my hand…Let me show you all of my devout discoveries.
An obvious first stop, Harrod’s.  London’s quintessential department store.
Because I was short on time, I went right to the “Fashion Lab”.  A collection of the world’s best contemporary brands such as Ted Baker, Joseph, All Saints, Pinko, J. Brand, Wildfox, Maje, Zadig & Voltaire.  I purchased a beautiful pair of Ted Baker floral pants and a simple yet elegant All Saints silk tee (shoes by Manolo Blahnik).

Ted Baker was originally launched as one of the very best contemporary men’s shirting company’s in the UK, and is now one of the fastest-growing leading lifestyle brands in London.  Some pieces I love from the latest collection…

On the following day, I made it my mission to explore Sloane Street in Knightsbridge- London’s premiere shopping avenue for the world’s most revered luxury brands.  A few shops I stumbled upon…

Harvey Nichols is the leading international luxury fashion destination.  A step above Harrod’s and much less tourist-driven, it’s your one-stop-shop to the world’s most exclusive brands in fashion.

Shoreditch was my absolute favorite neighborhood to shop in.  It is full of authentic, eclectic, quirky, and unique boutiques, gift shops, and high-end “designer dens”.  It is “high-street” fashion at it’s purest!

All Saints is one of my all-time favorite stores!  Located in close proximity to all of the above-mentioned shops, it is known for offering sharp-edge fashion, with a muted palette…All Saints has a vibe that is truly British chic rock ‘n’ roll!

Clothes that I’m loving NOW at All Saints…

Shoreditch is also home to the ultimate, one-of-a-kind, vintage boutiques.

Blondie and Rokit are meccas for all things vintage!!!  I could have spent hours upon hours in these two stores, but my boys were glaring at me with ferociously bored and tired eyes through the windows!

Spitalfield’s Market was my final shopping destination.  This is London’s trendiest shopping, where London’s cutting-edge designers can display their creations.  You can find fresh, forward-thinking fashion and design here.  It’s home also to a tasty selection of eateries, all locally sourced…and offers “healthy fast-food” options.

London just blew me away!!!  It’s bloody marvelous!!!  An amazing, beautiful, vibrant city!   Goodbye London…For Now!  I WILL be back!
