Balmain, the notorious Parisian fashion house, is coming to H&M on November 5th! Olivier Rousteing is the creative director for Balmain and his collaboration with the Swedish “fast-fashion” giant will be a collection of his most iconic pieces for both men and women. The collection will consist of Balmain staples: styles featuring silk and velvet fabrics, embellished with bold details such as cord and metallic thread. There will be sharply tailored double-breasted jackets, pearl-embroidered blazers, blazers with gold buttons and ostentatious shoulders, and exquisitely-draped silk harem pants. Also in stock: beautifully-detailed body-skimming dresses, lavish accessories in bright pops of color, and extraordinary hand-beading galore!
This collection will be a little bit more expensive than past designer concepts, with a few items surpassing $500. But not to worry, there will still be plenty of items under $100! These fast-fashion pieces are as heavily beaded and embellished as couture but made in more affordable fabrics. Rousteing calls this capsule collection “my couture for the high streets” and allows H&M customers the opportunity to buy a less expensive version of his rich and flamboyant designs.
Many of my favorite pieces…
So, as always, this will be a shopping experience from hell! I just have to stretch out, suit up, and strap on my best running shoes. If I have to knock over a few elderly or anorexic mall-walkers to get to those glass double doors at 9:59 am, so be it! With game-faces on, I’ll see all you crazy-ass bitches there!
Bravo #HMBALMAINATION!
